Here, your child will find belonging and a feeling of possibility and peace; a habitat to sustain deep learning and growth.
The working group wanted to create the best possible learning environment, so we took the time to look at various models of alternative education. We met with educators from several independent and immersion schools and determined that a Montessori inspired approach aligns with our educational philosophy; allowing the child to be a leader in their own learning based on their natural interests and abilities. We were inspired by the Pirurvik preschool which combines Montessori methodology with language immersion and traditional knowledge. We intend for Gaelic culture and local knowledge to be at the core of what and how students will learn and Taigh Sgoile na Drochaide.
There is much work to be done before the school opens its doors, but a solid plan has been put in place to get us there. There has been significant work done on curriculum, policies and a fundraising strategy is in place. The next step is for interested parents to become engaged and support the development of what will be an innovative school, thoroughly integrated into the community.
